What should I wear?

It is always important to question while traveling in Nepal. A simple answer is to wear whatsoever is comfortable. It is preferable to dress in layers and wear clothing that will wick away perspiration and keep you dry and comfortable. Please check out our practical information page for details lists of the clothes that you should wear during a trek. Here is a brief list of clothing that needs to wear during a trek.

Clothing

  • Hat or cap
  • T-shirts (1 for 2 or 3 days walking): avoid cotton, a very long time to dry.
  • Sub-sweater or long sleeve shirt.
  • Pair of hiking sticks.
  • 1-2 trekking pants, light
  • Raincoat
  • Jacket (thermal and windproof)
  • Goretex jacket style, simple and light.
  • Hiking socks (1 pair for 2- days of walking) avoid very long to dry-type socks “tennis” (cotton) and high risk of blisters.
  • Pair of gloves (Nov. – Mar.)
  • Pair of hiking shoes with good quality.
