Thorong Peak Climbing: Itinerary & Highlights
With а permit to Thorong peak climbing, this trek commences from Besisahar and moves up to Bahun Danda. Through terraced fields and lush forests, the trail then walks into Chame. The tour continues to Bagar chhap, which falls in the Manang district. From this Tibetan village, the path moves into Chame and Pisang through dense forests. Manang Village, imitating a fortress, comes next in the trail. From here, trekkers ascend to Yak Kharka and then up to Thorong Phedi, the foot of the Thorong La Pass, which acts as a base camp. It requires fixing another camping near Thorong La, which facilitates reaching the summit in a single day. The peak towers are at 6145 meters. Upon arriving at the top of this comparatively easy mountain, Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna massif, and Dhaulagiri range along with the entire Mustang Region, including the Kali Gandaki gorge.
