Thorong Peak Climbing: Itinerary & Highlights
Together with а permit to Thorong peak climbing, this trek commences from Besisahar and moves up to Bahun Danda. Through terraced fields and lush forests, the trail then walks into Chame. The trek further continues to Bagar chhap, which falls in the Manang district. From this Tibetan village, the path moves into Chame and then Pisang through dense forests. Manang Village, imitating a fortress, comes next in the trail. From here, trekkers ascend to Yak Kharka and then up to Thorong Phedi, the foot of the Thorong La Pass which acts as a base camp. It requires fixing another camping near the Thorong La which facilitates to reaching the summit in a single day. The peak is towering at 6145 meters. Upon arriving at the top of this comparatively easy mountain, views of Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri range along with the entire Mustang Region including the Kali Gandaki gorge.
